Commercial hold is the binding constraint
UC will not finalise production configuration until the partnership agreement is signed. UC legal is waiting on ACM to close the Schedule 2 alumni definition and the entitlement verification mechanism. Engineering is running ahead of the commercial track.
Piano owns the last technical blocker
First login does not complete when the oid custom claim is configured. Confirmed by Piano as a platform bug on 13 Aug, fix in review, no committed release date. Escalate through the Piano account team if nothing lands by 21 Aug.

Project scope
Web SSO for staff and students at go-live. Everything else sequenced behind it.

UC staff SSO on web. OIDC federation from the staff Entra tenant into Piano, dedicated login button, canberra.edu.au.
UC student SSO on web. Second OIDC connection, dedicated button, uni.canberra.edu.au.
Persistent identity via the oid claim. Stable non-PII key for entitlement matching and washing.
Entitlement and paywall rules. Full premium access, segmented by email domain.
Branded UC login experience. Subject to UC Marketing approval.
SSO account security constraints. No email change, no social linking, no disconnecting the UC link.
Phase 2
Mobile app SSO. Not yet sized.
Alumni stepping-stone offer. Piano promotion distributed by UC Advancement. Approx 3,000 March and 1,500 September per cohort.
Periodic entitlement verification. Mechanism to revoke access for former staff and students. Option not yet selected.
Adoption reporting. Activation against eligible population, weekly active by cohort, engaged minutes, retention past week four.
Not in scope
SCIM 2.0 automated provisioning. Requested by UC, deferred. Replaced for now by a periodic identifier exchange.
Alumni SSO via Entra ID. Not possible. Alumni identities are not maintained in UC's Entra environments.
Tier 2 academic programme benefits. Guest lectures, internships, student journalism award, student voice column. Separate editorial and marketing workstream.
